Nonprofit accountants aren’t just CFOs, Controllers or Bookkeepers – we are “Oz” behind the proverbial curtain, managing more than finances. We do what needs to be done administratively so that program teams can focus on being the front line of fulfilling an Organization’s mission. So, how can we look beyond the numbers? In this session, we will dive into how to take traditional (and some non-traditional) functions and add value to a Nonprofit.

Speaker BIO:

Heather has over 18 years of experience in public accounting, primarily working as an outsourced CFO for nonprofit organizations. Heather is licensed by the Standards for Excellence program – an exclusive professional development initiative that aims to raise the level of accountability, transparency, and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations across the country. Heather is currently Treasurer of the Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce; previously, she volunteered as a financial consultant to the Boys and Girls Club and served on the Board of Control for Coast Guard Mutual Assistance.
