Join the IRS for an engaging discussion on current hot topics such as the Employee Retention Credit and the “Dirty Dozen” list of tax scams. We will provide examples of the latest tax scams that could impact individuals and business owners. You’ll also learn about free tax resources, how to access these resources and current tax credits. This session will include an opportunity for you to give feedback on how IRS programs, policies, and procedures affect you and your business.

Speaker BIO:

Evette Davis has dedicated 36 years to the Internal Revenue Service, currently serving as a Senior Stakeholder Liaison representative in Columbia, S.C. She began her IRS career as an intern in 1988 and transitioned to a full-time role as a Revenue Officer in 1990 after earning her BS in Office Management and Business Education from South Carolina State University. In her current position, Evette collaborates closely with various federal, state, and local government entities across South Carolina. Her primary objectives are to educate stakeholders on recent tax law changes, offer resources and services to small businesses to ensure their longevity and voluntary compliance, and manage several key roles including SC Area Lead for Business Industries, NC/SC Disaster Assistance Coordinator, and SC Area Lead for Tax Professionals. Additionally, she instructs at the North and South Carolina Tax Practitioner Institutes.
