Session Title:

New FASB Accounting Standards and Agenda Priorities

DESCRIPTION:

Important changes are being made to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standards as it relates to financial accounting and reporting standards for information provided to investors and other allocators of capital. Join us as FASB Board Member Dr. Joyce Joseph will discuss what’s new in US financial reporting as well as opportunities to make your voice heard during the standard-setting process.

Dr. Joyce Joseph will share her journey to become the first person of color named to the seven-member FASB since it was established in the 1970s. Prior to her appointment the board was comprised of three women and four men but has shifted to four women and three men when Joseph joined the board. This was another historic first on the gender scale for the U.S. accounting rule maker.

We are excited to have Dr. Joyce Joseph as our opening keynote speaker at this year’s Women Who Count conference.
