SESSION TITLE: Crafting Your Personal Brand to Elevate Your Career in Accounting
SESSION DESCRIPTION:
It can be hard to stand out as a person who identifies as female, in the accounting and finance world. It’s not because you are not excellent. Instead, there are an array of forces at play that, taken together, can work to hold women down. In this session, the gloves will come off and truths will be shared. To get the creative juices flowing we will start by examining our own roles in keeping ourselves and other women down, and then challenge some sacred cows about what makes a good leader. We will then walk through some of the best ways to develop and leverage a strong personal brand in the business world. From defining your unique value proposition to effectively communicating it through networking, social media, and professional presence, you’ll learn how to stand out and advance your career with authenticity and confidence. Attendees will leave with a framework for discovering which areas of their personal brand may need attention, and how to capitalize on the things that are already strengths, plus some new skills and confidence as well.
