May is Member Appreciation Month!

We are excited to announce that May will be AFWA member appreciation month. We want our members to know that You Count! We are planning a variety of ways to show our appreciation and for our members & chapters to be able to celebrate together. Things planned for May include You Count shirts, You Count logos for social media, weekly trivia, member spotlights, and Starbucks gift card referral awards. Things planned in May include,

• You Count Shirts: Members can order a t-shirt or polo shirt to show they are AFWA proud. There will be 3 logos to choose from when ordering a t-shirt or polo shirt. Chapters can have their members wear their You Count shirts at a May event and snap a picture to share and show your AFWA spirit! Click here if you are interested in an AFWA shirt. • AFWA Weekly Trivia: Questions will be sent out on Tuesday and members will have until Thursday to submit their answers. Members who answer all of the questions correctly will be put in a drawing for weekly awards. Click here for Week 2 Trivia! – Click here for the link!

• Member Spotlights: Members will be able to nominate themselves or another AFWA member to be featured on AFWA’s social media. If you would like to nominate yourself or another member please complete the application here.

Member Spotlight:

Yelena Melero

Yelena joined the East Bay Chapter as a student member. Immediately after joining she volunteered to help the local chapter board. She has contributed with the best attitude and ideas. She is currently East Bay Chapter’s Vice President. She is someone who will impress you every single time you interact with her. Yelena is smart, thoughtful, hardworking, generous and really fun to know.

• Social Media: Members and Chapters can show their AFWA pride on social media by adding the You Count logo to Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram. 3 different logos will be available for use on the social media sites.

• Referral Awards: A $10 Starbucks gift card will be awarded to every member who refers someone to join AFWA in May. A gift card will be sent for each referral and members can receive multiple referral awards.
